first vinyl pressing of twin infinitives since the original vinyl issue in 1990. after moving to san francisco, royal trux released the highly experimental double album twin infinitives. this album remains an extreme work on the periphery of rock music, worthy of being compared to lou reeds metal machine music and suicides debut album. at only four subdivided tracks, none of which clock in under 15 minutes, the record has plenty of time to weave a mesmerizing web that is sometimes menacing, sometimes startling. for all of its high brow allusions, twin infinitives nearly reeks of vice, a dark, sordid feel pervades the record, and the listener can almost picture the band recording in a filthy apartment in the middle of the night in various states of intoxication and debauchery.

stone cold classic funky disco floor filler thats stood the test of time. first time ever on 12inch!!! taken from the hard to find self titled lp by tommy stewart, bump & hustle music is the definitive disco funk party anthem. it was recorded in 1976 in atlanta, georgia, and since then the lp has found itself in the play boxes of soul, funk and jazz djs alike. however, its not until now that this amazing song has finally made it onto the preferred format of dance djs the world over the 45rpm 12inch single. in 1976 tommy stewart was a busy man, working as an arranger, producer, performer and writer for a host of soul and rnb artists. the lp made for abraxas records was the first to go directly under his name, and although it failed to take off locally, the lp soon became known by djs across the world primarily for the club smash bump & hustle music. as it happens that song in particular almost didnt exist but for tommy needing to come up with something quick in order to fill in a gap in the album. conceived and recorded on the spur of the moment, and with backing vocals by isaac hayes singers hot buttered soul overdubbed later, its a superb example of rhythmic simplicity blended with soulful, catchy harmonies. its just impossible to listen to bump & hustle music without a broad smile coming to your face, and when played loud in a club, its impossible not to dance!

there is no doubt that leipzig is a pulsating place in terms of electronic music. however, the potential of the city seems to be experiencing a new surge - not least due to up-and-coming producers like sven tasnadi and stefan schultz aka juno6. both belong to the generation of musicians who initially released their tracks for free on net-labels but have since have made the leap to vinyl. while sven tasnadi has already released great eps on liebe*detail, smallville records and of course on cargo edition, juno6 just recently made his debut with >salamis< in spring 2008 on broque. now they have joined forces with their first collaboration for cargo edition. both tracks on the ep are characterised by elaborate rhythms, a special deepness and intricately arranged sounds. >aramis< tells apparently different stories which merge seamlessly during its 14 minutes. the track also explores the hypnotic moments on the dancefloor in a very subtle and complex manner - reduced but full of vibrancy at the same time. >genau so< on the b-side takes a similar line, but adds a spark of funk, which combines to form its distinctive rhythm. sven tasnadi & juno6 have created two modern house tracks which are full of character.

the debut record of ritmolider kaleidoscope is a traditional studio work with live performance and classic analog sound. being in the era of nu disco and re edits the author has tried to find his own way of making music based on traditional methods of performance. and hes got a beautiful symbiosis of instrumental improvisations and electronic melodiousness. at the begining of the record theres a superb remix by the beat broker - deep, groovy synth disco, highly recomended for dancefloor! the second track is a journey into obscure psychedelic funk with lots of improvisations and atmospheric tunes....a pity so sweet percussions are added so late. b2 tonight at the discotheque will carry you away by the real soviet disco vibe. a beautiful arp solo softly flowing through amazing effects and acoustic drums focused on free played funky basslines. the original version of kaleidoscope is also a very interesting one. a mood of this composition is changed all the time. the first seconds of the track you hear a tender melodic solo which makes you feel calm and relaxed, then you get the groove coming from an agressive arpeggio and dinamic percussion. soon this feeling gets interrupted with a sudden slap bass impromtu playing together with a synthy accompaniment, and it turns into another feeling, and so on... this really reminds of kaleidoscope effect!
